Greater Atlanta Christian School (GAC) is a premier, independent PreK‑12th grade school located just outside Metro Atlanta. We are seeking a dynamic, engaging individual to teach the Social Science curriculum in secondary school grade levels in face‑to‑face, online, and blended learning environments.

Responsibilities
  • Maintaining regular office hours and before/after school help sessions to advise and assist students, including career exploration.
  • Assessing students and analyzing results; refining and differentiating classroom instruction based on assessment data and student needs.
  • Actively participating in the PK‑12 English Professional Learning Community.
  • Communicating regularly with students and families about classroom activities and student progress.
  • Managing student behavior to ensure full engagement.
  • Participating in job‑embedded professional development courses for continuous growth.
  • Identifying unique student needs and collaborating with team members to address them.
  • Living out the mission, vision, and core values of GAC professionally and personally.
  • Serving as a sponsor of student organizations and participating in campus and community events.
  • Performing other related work as needed.
  • Contributing to the GAC community outside of the classroom as an athletic coach, student advisor, club leader, or assistant for other co‑curricular activities.
Education and Experience
  • Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in education; a master’s degree is preferred.
  • Teaching experience of 3+ years.
  • Prior experience and success in teaching a specialized area.
Certifications
  • Current Georgia Renewable Teaching Certificate in Secondary English Education is required.
Knowledge, Skills, & Capabilities
  • Knowledge of student cognitive development and various learning styles.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Lead the classroom and other activities with a heart of Christ and be an example of Christ to students.
  • Create a curriculum that meets state, national, College Board, and GAC requirements.
  • Work with other English educators to facilitate horizontal and vertical curriculum alignment.
  • Committed to growth and promotion at GAC and in the community.
  • Willingness to reflect on and improve instructional practices.
  • Embrace technological innovation as a tool to teach, engage, and motivate students.
  • Share GAC’s commitment to differentiated learning and exhibit comprehension of 21st‑century learning skills, concepts, and tools.
Pre‑employment Requirements
  • Successful background check, reference checking, and drug/alcohol screening clearance.
  • Acknowledgment of and agreement with GAC’s Statement of Faith and Community Covenant.
