DepartmentThe Social Sciences Department at Perimeter College is a dynamic, multidisciplinary community dedicated to bringing learning to life. The department’s 64 full‑time faculty are committed to engaging students in an access, 2‑year environment in meaningful discussions, hands‑on learning, and real‑world applications of social science concepts. Courses are offered in History, Political Science, African‑American Studies, Psychology, Sociology, Criminal Justice, Education, Social Work, Gerontology, Anthropology, Homeland Security & Emergency Management, and Women’s, Gender, & Sexuality Studies.

Position TypePart‑time Faculty
Job DutiesTeach 1 to 2 sections of Intro to Sociology or Intro to Social Problems per term, as needed. Courses will be offered primarily on one of the five physical campuses, with online classes possible following the institution’s certification process. Create syllabi, assignments, tests, and class activities; deliver lectures and facilitate discussion. Communicate with students outside class via email, phone, and in-person or virtual office hours.
Use the online learning management system to post syllabi, grades, and other required information. Maintain required record‑keeping, such as roll verification, progress reports, and final grades. Maintain communication with the department chair and staff regarding teaching schedule and student issues.
College‑level teaching experience is required.
Required EducationApplicants must have a minimum of a Master’s Degree with at least 18 graduate semester hours (or 27 quarter hours) in Sociology.
