Per Diem Educational Consultant (9-12 Math)
The onboard representative of Savvas Learning Company responsible for initiating lasting change in districts and schools by delivering core content, intervention, supplemental professional development, Change of Practice, and job‑embedded services. Provides individual and group support for district personnel and school faculty to integrate effective strategies into classroom practice.
Additional duties include delivering professional development and technical assistance to schools contracted for Savvas services. Requires deep knowledge of academia, standards‑based school reform, and the ability to provide high‑quality job‑embedded professional development and site‑based technical support using innovative Savvas products, technology resources, and research‑based methodologies.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES- Effectively implement classroom components and resources in the program
- Apply the philosophy, pedagogy, and basic organization of the program.
- Implement each segment of the daily instructional block.
- Differentiate instruction based on student needs.
- Manage a Savvas curriculum classroom, technology integration, and devices.
- Utilize data and reporting tools to inform instruction and decision making.
- Model coaching conversations supporting administrative feedback to teachers.
- Job‑Embedded Coaching and Modeling
- Coach teachers to apply program philosophy, pedagogy, and basic organization.
- Differentiate instruction based on teacher and student needs.
- Observation and Support
- Observe classroom practices post‑professional development to assess program implementation.
- Provide teachers with critical feedback to guide implementation progress.
- Give feedback on observable practices from Model Lesson/Lesson Study opportunities.
- Data‑Based Decision Making
- Use performance and assignment dashboards within the product.
- Differentiate instruction based on student needs.
- Administrator Support
- Use Savvas program tools to determine implementation needs.
- Observe instructional strategies and provide feedback to teachers.
- Understand and identify the philosophy, pedagogy, and basic organization of the program.
- Administrator Coaching
- Provide classroom/Instructional coaching.
- Facilitate training to support implementation.
- Offer onsite technical support.
- Maintain regular communication with school and district leaders.
- B.A. or B.S. degree required; M.A. preferred.
- Experience of fering workshops/coaching to teachers.
- Experience with classroom‑based technology integration.
- Experience with differentiated instruction.
- Demonstrated success as a classroom teacher and at least five years of experience as a 6‑12 mathematics professional.
- Strong collaboration and team‑building skills.
- Knowledge of standards‑based reform, curriculum, instruction, and assessment.
- Ability to plan strategically with and coach school leaders and classroom teachers.
- Ability to provide instructional support on effective teaching strategies for teachers across content areas using instructional technology.
- Strong problem‑solving skills.
- Excellent presentation skills for large and small groups.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Scaffolding instruction for English Language Learners.
- Certification in bilingual education preferred.
- Scaffolding instruction for students with disabilities.
- Strategies for effective classroom use of instructional technology.
- Experience in virtual teaching and learning.
- Programs and services to support community outreach.
- Ability to perform essential duties effectively; reasonable accommodations may be provided.
- Must be able to sit or stand at a computer for extended periods and present as needed.
- Ability to handle a high volume of work, multiple priorities, and a demanding environment.
- Reliable attendance and punctuality are critical.
- Must travel up to 70%, including airline and automobile travel.
- Requires reliable personal transportation for job duties.
- Full‑Day Professional Development: $550 per 6‑hour session.
- Half‑Day Professional Development: $275 per 3‑hour session.
- 1‑Hour Webinar Session: $120 per session.
- Travel: $160 per day (Onsite only).
- Administrative: $20 per hour.
- Internal Training: $30 per hour.
- Eligible for sick time and 401(k) program with company match.
- Company‑issued laptop provided.
