Atlanta Technical College (ATC) is seeking a knowledgeable and dedicated candidate for its Adjunct Instructor (Aviation) position in the Academic and Student Affairs division, Industrial & Transportation Technologies department, located on the Main campus just south of downtown Atlanta, GA.
Responsibilities- Demonstrates knowledge of current procedures in the aviation field.
- Adheres to FAA regulations governing Part 147 schools.
- Displays willingness to receive input and undergo internal review of processes and procedures used in the classroom.
- Uses appropriate teaching techniques to engage groups of students in different activities simultaneously.
- Applies appropriate testing and grading procedures, including proper maintenance of grade books and other record‑keeping.
- Monitors students' use of supplies, materials, and equipment.
- Advises and counsels students and maintains appropriate advisement records on each student.
- Attends meetings as required and appropriate.
- Observes and enforces the institution’s policies and regulations.
- Observes and enforces FAA compliance requirements for approved programs.
- Assists with student recruitment and job placement as requested by the supervisor.
- Serves on committees as requested by supervisors.
- Maintains professional qualifications as appropriate for the field and as described by the Technical College System of Georgia Policy Manual.
- Follows rules and regulations as described by the Technical College System of Georgia Policy Manual and other policies and procedures established by the institution.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Knowledge of current procedures in the aviation field.
- Knowledge of FAA regulations governing Part 147 schools.
- Skill in applying appropriate testing and grading procedures.
- Skill in using appropriate teaching techniques to engage students.
- Ability to multitask and respond to deadlines in a timely manner.
- Skill in maintaining grade books and accurate records.
- Skill in monitoring and managing use of instructional materials and equipment.
- Skill in advising and counseling students.
- Effective oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to collaborate and receive constructive feedback.
- Knowledge of institutional policies, FAA compliance, and TCSG procedures.
- Commitment to maintaining professional qualifications and compliance with regulatory standards.
- Associate’s degree from an accredited college or university AND one (1) or more years of related work experience in an educational setting or a business setting.
- A & P certified and three (3) years of experience as an A & P mechanic.
- Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited college or university AND three (3) or more years of related work experience.
- Two (2) or more years teaching in an educational setting.
