Position anticipated to begin in August 2026. Applicant must possess a minimum of a Master’s degree in Chemistry or Biochemistry and have expertise to teach courses such as General Chemistry, General Chemistry Lab, Organic Chemistry, and/or a survey course in Chemistry. Prior experience teaching at the college level is preferred. Normal teaching load is approximately seven courses per academic year. This position is not on tenure track.

• Teaching and coordinating Chemistry courses as assigned (90%).
• Service on committees and other duties as assigned (10%).

Educational Requirements

• A Master’s degree in Chemistry or Biochemistry with at least 18 credit hours in chemistry and chemistry‑related courses (organic, analytical, inorganic, physical, pharmacology, toxicology, and biochemistry).

Required Experience

• Experience teaching chemistry at the undergraduate level and coordinating courses and instructional laboratories.
• Consistent with the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) accreditation requirements.
• Evidence of ability as a teacher.
• Evidence of activity as a scholar and ability in all other duties assigned.
• Successful experience (waived for new faculty who meet all other requirements).
• Desirable personal qualities judged on interview, biographical data, and recommendations.

Preferred Qualifications

• Graduate degree in Chemistry or a closely related field.
• Experience teaching chemistry at the undergraduate/college level.

Salary and compensation are commensurate with education, experience, and achievements and are subject to availability of funds.
