The Regional Safety Manager is responsible for the day‑to‑day functioning of safety operations at KIPP Atlanta Schools. Reporting to the Director of Health & Safety, the Regional Safety Manager provides leadership of and manages third‑party safety vendors across KIPP Atlanta Schools. The Regional Safety Manager ensures compliance with all safety processes, procedures and provides training to staff to ensure safety plans are implemented across the organization.
Job Responsibilities- Vendor Management (50%)
- Vet, select and manage third‑party security vendors, SRO’s and traffic officers to ensure school safety holding vendors accountable to agreed upon levels of service.
- Ensure that vendors adhere and conform to KIPP Atlanta Schools organizational norms and implement school safety programming consistent with the organization’s mission and vision.
- Regularly lead vendor meetings to ensure the effective cascade of communication, identifying areas of challenge and coordinating necessary changes in response to organizational challenges.
- Hold vendor team accountable to performance goals and metrics identified through organizational planning and as part of their day‑to‑day duties.
- Serve as primary point of contact for school‑based staff to coordinate school safety vendors; resolve escalations.
- Manage and process vendor invoices.
- Safety Planning & Execution (30%)
- Coordinate the development and implementation of school safety plans and regional office safety plan are in alignment with KIPP Atlanta Schools' vision for safety and security.
- Develop and lead training on school safety processes and procedures ensuring all KIPP Atlanta Schools staff are trained on school safety best practices.
- Serve as a key point of contact for school safety‑related crises.
- Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of school safety best practices, updating school safety processes and procedures to industry best practices.
