Position Overview
Assistant Visiting Professor (Exercise Science) in the Department of Kinesiology, Sports Studies, and Physical Education at Morehouse College, Atlanta, GA. The appointment begins August 1, 2026 for the 2026‑2027 academic year and is full‑time (3–3 teaching load). The faculty member will teach undergraduate courses in Kinesiology and related subjects, advise and mentor students, and contribute to scholarship and institutional service in line with the College’s mission.
Responsibilities- Teach undergraduate Kinesiology courses such as Preventive & Therapeutic, Mechanical Analysis of Motion, Online Wellness, and general education courses assigned by the department.
- Develop and deliver curriculum that supports the College’s core curriculum and experiential learning initiatives.
- Advise and mentor undergraduate students, including those from underrepresented backgrounds.
- Engage in scholarly research and contribute to the department’s research agenda.
- Participate in institutional service and initiatives that support the College’s mission to develop men with disciplined minds who lead lives of leadership and service.
- Earned doctorate (Ph.D. or Ed.D.) in Kinesiology, Physical Education, or a closely related field.
- Ph.D. candidates with a master’s in Kinesiology will be considered.
- Demonstrated ability to teach effectively at the undergraduate level.
- Evidence of an emerging or established scholarly research agenda in Kinesiology, Physical Education, or related fields.
- Commitment to mentoring undergraduate students, including those from underrepresented backgrounds.
