Job Summary

Full‑time academic (10 months per year) tenure‑track position. The successful candidate will teach 30 credit hours per academic year in the School of Arts and Sciences using on‑campus, online (synchronous and asynchronous), and hybrid modalities, including introductory and advanced courses in film studies, film history, and courses in the candidate’s areas of specialization.

Responsibilities
  • Teach 30 credit hours per academic year in the School of Arts and Sciences using on‑campus, online, and hybrid modalities.
  • Engage in service to the department, the college, and the community.
  • Promote student success through various methods and provide advisement to students.
  • Engage in professional development.
  • Engage in research, scholarly activities, and/or academic achievement that adds value to the instruction of Film and Entertainment Studies or the college’s mission.
Required Qualifications
  • Minimum degree (e.g., master’s degree, earned doctorate; if a specific terminal degree such as Ph.D. is listed, then you can only hire someone with that exact degree) or the equivalent is required.
  • Area of specialization (as appropriate)
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Ability to teach, lecture classes, grade papers, conduct research and/or scholarly activities, and create assignments and assessments.
  • Must be able to perform each essential duty efficiently and satisfactorily.
  • Strong oral and written communication, listening, and organizational skills.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams) and relevant business application software packages.
  • Ability to work cooperatively and effectively with others.
  • Ability to use small office equipment, including copy machines or multi‑line telephone systems.
  • Ability to use computers for data entry, data submission, word processing, and presenting information.
Proposed Salary

57,200 annually
