Atlanta Technical College (ATC) is seeking highly qualified applicants for its Adjunct Economics Instructor in the General Education. This position is located at Atlanta Technical College’s main campus, just south of downtown Atlanta.
The ECON 1101 course provides a description and analysis of economic operations in contemporary society. Emphasis is placed on developing an understanding of economic concepts and policies as they apply to everyday life. ECON 2105 (Macroeconomics) provides a description of macroeconomic principles and policies, such as macroeconomic equilibrium and the impact of fiscal and monetary policies. ECON 2106 (Microeconomics) provides an analysis of the ways in which consumers and businesses interact in a market economy.
Dutiesand Responsibilities
- Serve as educator, resource, and representative of Atlanta Technical College.
- Demonstrate appropriate teaching techniques and testing and grading procedures, including proper maintenance of electronic grade books and record‑keeping.
- Utilize oral and written communication skills, follow approved curriculum standards, and implement department course syllabi.
- Advise and counsel students and maintain appropriate records for each student.
- Attend meetings as required.
- May be required to teach at other locations within the community.
- Master’s degree from an accredited institution in Economics or a related field with a minimum of 18 completed graduate hours in ECON.
- Must possess and maintain the appropriate professional credential for or related to the field or position.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Knowledge of and efficiency in the use of Blackboard.
- Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills.
Minimum qualifications for this position will be determined by the teaching discipline and compliance with appropriate accrediting bodies. Faculty must be credentialed to satisfy all appropriate accrediting bodies for the course assigned.
