Shape the next generation of healthcare providers through high-quality nursing education in classroom, online, and clinical settings, including day and evening and weekend programs. This Maternal Child/OB faculty opportunity supports campus needs across curricula, with faculty expected to teach across courses and levels. We are seeking candidates who demonstrate flexibility, collaboration, and a willingness to contribute wherever needed to ensure student success and program excellence.
This role includes teaching, student evaluation, professional mentoring, committee participation, and engagement in service and scholarship activities aligned with Chamberlain's mission.
Responsibilities- Teach assigned nursing courses across the curriculum (e.g., classroom, online, clinical, lab, simulation), with a focus on Maternal Child/OB content, creating engaging learning experiences using technology and evidence-based methods.
- Provide input to and implement course curriculum and teaching materials across programs, including daytime and evening/weekend formats.
- Keep students first—know your students, identify individual needs, and foster relationships that support learning success.
- Evaluate student performance; provide timely feedback and remediation as needed.
- Lead clinical learning (clinicals, labs, simulation) or partner with faculty leading labs; ensure students are practice-ready by connecting theory to practice and supporting safe, ethical, and professional nursing care.
- Contribute to the Chamberlain community through professional service, including committees, graduation, and program evaluation.
- Demonstrate flexibility and a willingness to teach across courses, levels, and program formats to support evolving campus needs.
- Provide guidance, coaching, and support to students and new faculty.
- Engage in scholarly activities related to teaching and nursing practice, including research and dissemination of new knowledge.
- Maintain subject matter expertise and teaching effectiveness through ongoing professional development.
- Follow, understand, and enforce policies related to students (exams, attendance, late submissions, etc.) and remain current with updates.
- Anticipate and respond to student needs; support faculty and academic leaders in removing barriers to success
- Demonstrate flexibility and adaptability in supporting a variety of course assignments and schedules
- Connect daily work to Chamberlain’s mission and academic strategy
- Seek feedback, implement new initiatives, and use data to continuously improve outcomes
- Partner effectively with internal and external stakeholders in a collaborative, team-oriented environment
- Demonstrate ethical practice, accountability, and a commitment to continuous improvement
- Strong student outcomes, including NCLEX, KAM, and program success indicators
- High levels of student engagement and satisfaction (course evaluations, NPS)
- Compliance with all licensure and regulatory requirements
- Timely, accurate, and high-quality grading and feedback aligned to rubrics
- Effective use of technology, data, and AI tools to enhance teaching and learning
- Active participation in professional service and scholarship
- Consistent demonstration of Chamberlain’s culture, values, and leadership behaviors
- Master's Degree in Nursing Required and
- PhD in a Nursing Preferred
- 2+ years professional experience in a profession related to the teaching discipline Required
- Excellent communication skills along with a high level of initiative and prudent judgment
- Technological expertise with learning management systems, simulation equipment, and online platforms, increasingly ability to work with AI
- Create engaging learning environments and exhibit strong conflict management skills
- Collaborating across faculty, Extended Service Team, and clinical partners
- Emotional and social intelligence to recognize student needs, respond with empathy, and create a supportive, inclusive learning environment
