The Senior Army Instructor, JROTC is responsible for serving as the Department Chair for the JROTC program and is charged with the responsibility for the overall management of the unit at the school. This position develops and aligns value-added strategies in support of goals outlined in the school’s strategic plan. The Senior Army Instructor serves as an ambassador of goodwill to the community to forge positive support relationships among all stakeholders.
- Coordinates with senior school officials and District JROTC personnel to establish procedures relating to the administration, control, and education of students enrolled in the JROTC program
- Complies with all regulatory guidelines outlined in Cadet Command Regulation 145-2, JROTC Program Organization, Administration, Operation, Training and Support and Cadet Command Regulation 145-8-3, Organizational Inspection Program
- Provides comprehensive educational instruction to students enrolled in the JROTC program
- Collaborates with general education staff, special education staff, guidance counselors, and school administrators, as needed, to maximize program effectiveness
- Performs administrative and logistical tasks related to JROTC program management which includes: coordinating with all JROTC department personnel to plan, organize, and conduct JROTC extracurricular and co‑curricular activities to meet requirements established in the Unit Report Cadet Command Regulation 145-2 and CCR 145-8-3
- Supervises and collaborates with Army Instructors to effectively and efficiently manage all aspects of the JROTC Program
- Performs other duties as assigned by the appropriate administrator
Bachelor’s Degree
Certification/LicensureMust hold Junior ROTC US Army Cadet Command Certification
Must obtain Permit through Georgia Professional Standards Commission in addition to their service certification
Experience QualificationsMust be honorably retired from the United States Army;
Experience working with youth preferred
- Experience working with youth and culturally diverse groups
- Ability to apply critical thinking skills in rendering solutions to various issues
- Ability to collaborate effectively with District personnel, the general public, and work with diverse groups of people
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
- Excellent organizational and leadership skills
- May require work in inclement weather
- Must meet physical standards outlined in Cadet Command Regulation 145-2
