Summary
Provides instruction for students that enables them to learn and demonstrate mastery of the Georgia Performance Standards.
Essential Duties- Provide content‑related and appropriate instruction based on Fulton County’s curriculum.
- Maintain a classroom environment that promotes active learning in the subject area.
- Exhibit knowledge of performance‑based instruction and assessment.
- Communicate responsibly with students, parents, colleagues, and school leadership.
- Account for student attendance and punctuality.
- Follow all county, state, and federal policies and procedures.
- Follow professional ethics in all work‑related activities.
- Prepare adequately for responsibilities to be assumed when absent.
- Work with parents/guardians in all aspects of the student’s educational program.
- Facilitate home‑school communication through conferences, telephoning, and written communications.
- Integrate appropriate technology into classroom instruction.
- Avoid behaviors that detract from staff morale.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the appropriate administrator.
Bachelor’s Degree from a regionally accredited university.
Certification / LicensureValid Georgia Teaching Certification in applicable field required, or eligibility to hold a valid Georgia Teaching Certificate.
Experience Qualifications0-1 year of classroom experience required.
Knowledge / Skills / Abilities- Proven communication and instructional strategies.
- Classroom management skills.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Classroom environment.
- Ability to lift and carry 30-50 pounds with assistance.
- Ability to push or pull a maximum of 50 pounds.
- May require stooping or crouching.
