About the DepartmentBolstered by a strong external funding record, high-impact faculty publications, a diverse and large undergraduate major, and a nationally competitive doctoral program, the Department of Psychology is committed to conducting cutting‑edge scholarship, providing excellent training and education, and serving students, college, university, and community. The department has a Clinical Psychology Graduate Program that has been APA accredited since 1973.
The department houses the GSU Psychology Clinic, a doctoral training clinic providing high quality and affordable psychological services to adults, children, adolescents, families, and couples in the greater Atlanta area.
Position DescriptionTwo tenure‑track positions at the Assistant and/or Associate Professor level in the Clinical Psychology Graduate Program, which operates under the scientist‑practitioner training model. Positions could begin as early as January 2027.
Rank and ExperienceAssistant Professor: Early‑level career faculty with postgraduate training.
Associate Professor: Mid‑level career faculty with at least 5 years at the rank of Assistant Professor or equivalent.
Required EducationA Ph.D. or equivalent advanced degree in clinical psychology is required at the time of appointment.
Licenses, Certifications, or RegistrationsApplicants should provide a description of their clinical experience and interests, indicating whether they meet Georgia licensure requirements or plan to complete unmet requirements. Refer to for licensure requirements.
Pre‑Employment RequirementsA criminal background check is required.
Work HoursPosition may require non‑standard hours (including day, evening, online, hybrid).
