Position Title

Part-Time Violin/Viola Music Instructor

Position Overview

Perimeter College is seeking a part‑time violin/viola instructor to teach applied violin and viola lessons beginning in the spring 2026 semester.

Responsibilities
  • Teach applied violin and viola at the collegiate level.
  • Use a variety of teaching methods to facilitate student learning.
  • Communicate effectively with students and colleagues.
  • Maintain excellent organizational and instructional skills.
  • Implement instructional technology as required.

Required Education

Applicants must have a minimum of a master’s degree with 18 graduate semester hours (or 27 quarter hours) in violin or viola performance or pedagogy.

Preferred Qualifications / Experience

Teaching experience preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Ability to teach applied violin and viola at the collegiate level.
  • Ability to teach effectively using a variety of methods and facilitate student learning.
  • Effective communication skills needed.
  • Excellent organization and teaching skills.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of instructional technology required.

Work Hours

Position may require non‑standard hours, including day, evening, online, hybrid, weekend, and/or other campus locations.

Salary

$3,075.00 for each 3‑semester credit hour course taught.
