Learning Specialist – Holistic Student Success

Responsibilities

• Provide support to the Center for Holistic Student Success
• Focus on 1:1 academic student support meetings, workshops, and community-building events
• Assess the academic progress of at-risk students and assist them in developing individualized study and remediation plans
• Create proactive student success interventions and analyze student outcome data
• Assist with the training, development, and organizing of EUSOM tutors
• Facilitate workshops focused on academic support interventions within or across 6 academic programs
• Collaborate with Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS), religious and spiritual life, and community providers for optimal mental health offerings
• Advocate for issues important to the students and community as a whole

• Masters degree required
• 1-3 years of related experience required
• Experience advising students in their study strategies: didactic, clinical and standardized testing
• Licensure examination preparation experience in related health science fields
• Work/life integration and time management
• Experience working with students with disabilities and accommodations needed
• Experience working with diverse student learners including but not limited to students underrepresented in medicine, international students and students with English as a second language.
