The Equity and Care Cohort Success Coordinator oversees programming and engagement for students who receive financial aid from three grants focused on first generation college students. The Coordinator provides proactive case management to ensure academic and personal success of cohort students. The Coordinator will supervise peer mentors and provide success coaching grounded in best practices for the support of first generation college students.
This position reports to the Assistant Director for First Generation and Student Support Programs.
- Provides case management for students who receive financial aid from three grants focused on first generation college student success.
- Develop, implement, and assess elements of summer bridge program.
- Collaborates with Student Success Advisors, Financial Aid, and Career Development to ensure a strong network of mentors for each student.
- Meets regularly with cohort members to provide individual and group advising and mentorship.
- Collects information from faculty, staff, and peer leaders to identify challenges and provide proactive solutions, including referral to campus resources including tutoring and counseling, to ensure the highest possible levels of retention and persistence.
- Supervise and train peer mentors and success coaches for cohort members.
- Collaborate with departmental staff and other partners to develop and implement programming focused on first generation student success.
- Maintain accurate records of student engagement and program outcome.
- Facilitate workshops, events, and activities that promote academic, personal, and social development.
- Manage communication with cohort students, ensuring they are aware of available resources.
- Serve on Petrel Assessment and Care Team.
- Contribute to grant reporting in a timely and effective manner.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor's degree in Higher Education, Student Affairs, Counseling, or a related field required.
- Experience working with first-generation students, student support programs, or similar roles.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse range of students and campus partners.
- Experience working with a in a higher education setting.
- Knowledge of student support systems.
- Experience in event planning and coordination.
- Proficient in Spanish language.
