The Morgan Oliver School is seeking a warm, thoughtful lead teacher for our 2/3 cohort - someone who genuinely delights in this age group, when children are becoming stronger readers, bolder thinkers, and more socially aware all  the primary teacher for this classroom, you'll design an integrated, inquiry-driven day rooted in our progressive, anti-racist mission and our Reggio Emilia- and Montessori-influenced approach.

We're a child-centered, restorative community that trusts teachers to know their students deeply and build curriculum around real curiosity. A candidate who speaks Spanish is a strong plus - it helps us partner more fully with our families and brings another language into the life of the classroom.

• Serve as the lead teacher for the 2/3 cohort, designing and delivering an integrated, developmentally appropriate curriculum across literacy, math, and our spiral thematic units.
• Ground daily instruction in MOS's inquiry-based, child-centered pedagogy, drawing on Reggio Emilia and Montessori influences.
• Cultivate a restorative, anti-racist classroom community where students practice empathy, conflict resolution, and self-advocacy.
• Differentiate instruction to meet a range of learners, partnering with our Learning Specialist and support team as needed.
• Use observational and authentic assessment to understand each child's growth, and document learning in ways families can see and celebrate.
• Build strong, trusting partnerships with families through regular, warm communication (Spanish proficiency a plus here).
• Collaborate with grade‑level lead teachers and specialists — including science, art, and mental health support — to create a coherent, connected experience for students.
• Maintain a joyful, inclusive classroom environment that supports the social, emotional, and academic growth of every child.
• Participate in professional development opportunities and school-wide initiatives as required.

• Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education, Early Childhood Education, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
• State teaching certification or licensure (preferred).
• Proven experience teaching early elementary students, ideally in the 1st-3rd grade range.
• Familiarity with progressive, child-centered pedagogy
  - Reggio Emilia, Montessori, inquiry-based, or project-based approaches.
• Spanish proficiency strongly preferred.
• Strong classroom community-building skills grounded in restorative practices.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with students, families, and colleagues.
• Commitment to fostering a diverse, equitable, inclusive, and anti-racist learning environment.
