Alumni Engagement Manager

The Alumni Engagement Manager is responsible for working with the Chief Advancement Officer, Director of Advancement Operations and Engagement to develop and execute a comprehensive alumni engagement strategy that strengthens lifelong relationships between Pace Academy and its alumni community. Reporting to the Director of Advancement Operations and Engagement, this position oversees alumni programming, volunteer leadership, reunion engagement, alumni communications, and affinity initiatives designed to increase participation, connection, and institutional pride.

The Alumni Engagement Manager works closely with the Alumni Giving Associate Director to ensure engagement activities support philanthropic outcomes while maintaining a primary focus on relationship‑building and community development.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive alumni engagement plan and calendar aligned with Pace priorities.
  • Increase alumni participation through meaningful programs, volunteer opportunities, and communications.
  • Create engagement pathways for recent graduates, young alumni, reunion classes, and affinity groups.
  • Serve as staff liaison to the Alumni Association and Alumni Board.
  • Recruit, train, and support alumni volunteer leaders.
  • Coordinate Alumni Board meetings, leadership communications, and strategic planning efforts.
ALUMNI PROGRAMS AND EVENTS
  • Develop and oversee alumni programming including Homecoming, Reunion Weekend, Golden Knights activities, Leadership Pace, Alumni Scholar, and additional awards, alumni networking events, and regional chapters and gatherings.
  • Partner with the Advancement Events Senior Manager on event execution.
  • Evaluate program effectiveness and alumni participation trends.
ALUMNI COMMUNICATIONS
  • Collaborate with Communications and Advancement staff to develop alumni‑focused communications for the Knight Times.
  • Collect and share alumni stories, achievements, and class updates.
  • Manage alumni engagement content across the Pace Academy website, digital and print channels.
  • Recruit and manage reunion volunteers, class representatives, and affinity leaders.
  • Develop and manage regional chapters of the Alumni Association.
  • Develop volunteer training and recognition programs.
PARTNERSHIP WITH ALUMNI GIVING
  • Collaborate with the Alumni Giving Associate Director on the Alumni Fund, reunion giving, volunteer solicitations, and donor pipeline development.
  • Identify engaged alumni with leadership giving potential.
  • Support alumni fundraising initiatives while maintaining a primary engagement focus.

Other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Minimum 3 of alumni relations, volunteer management, advancement, or nonprofit experience.
  • Strong relationship‑building and event management skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience working with volunteers and boards preferred.
  • Must be able to work on campus, in‑person.
WORKING CONDITIONS
  • May have to traverse campus during a variety of weather conditions.
  • Ability to sit at a computer terminal for an extended period.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be regularly required to stand, sit, talk, hear, reach, stoop, kneel, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer, telephone and keyboard.
  • Some travel may be required.
