AIScience Visiting Assistant Professor Position School of Mathematics

The School of Mathematics at the Georgia Institute of Technology invites applications for a postdoctoral research position in the mathematical foundations of Artificial Intelligence for Science for Fall 2026. The position consists of an annually renewable three‑year research and teaching appointment as a Visiting Assistant Professor and includes research funding. Candidates are expected to demonstrate an exceptional commitment to teaching and mentoring students.

• Develop an international‑level research program aligned with the mission of Georgia Tech AI4
  
  Science Center.
• Collaborate across the university in research and grant efforts.
• Teach undergraduate and/or graduate courses in the School of Mathematics.
• Actively participate in the operation of Georgia Tech AI4
  
  Science Center.

A PhD (or equivalent) in the Mathematical Sciences granted not more than five years prior to the start of appointment; an earned doctorate is required by the start of appointment.

• Potential to carry out research of exceptional quality at Georgia Tech.
• Research interests complementary to existing strengths in the School of Mathematics and the mission of Georgia Tech AI4
  
  Science Center.
• Strong potential for external funding.
• Ability to teach, mentor and contribute to the Student Success Criteria listed below.

Student Success Criteria:
The ability to teach and mentor a student body. The ability to adopt teaching strategies that support the learning and success of all students.

• A cover letter expressing interest in the position and AI4

• A curriculum vitae, including a list of publications.
• A research statement including a summary of future research plans.
• An evidence of teaching interest, abilities, and related experience summarized in a teaching statement.
• A list of at least four letters of reference, including a teaching letter of reference.
