The School of Public Health - Office of Academic Assistance isseeking an Assistant Director, Graduate Admission and Career Services (Assistant Director) to be responsible for but not limitedto the following duties:
ADMISSIONS SUPERVISION & FRONT DESK OPERATIONS- Provide supervision to the Admissions Coordinator and Administrative Assistant - which serves as main points of contact for prospective students.
- Serve as primary contact for SOPHAS.
- Train staff and faculty on using SOPHAS.
- Develop a calendar of events for prospective and incomingstudents (orientation, information sessions, etc.)
- Represent the School at recruiting events and national conferences (ASPPH, SOPHE, APHA, etc.)
- Develop marketing materials, conduct ongoing competitor analysis to improve services, and develop strategies for attractingunderrepresented groups.
- Assists annual recruitment and enrollment plan.
- Send out request for class schedules for Fall, Spring, and Summer semesters to SPH Department Chairs and Department Coordinators.
- Enter class and section information in Banner.
- Enter course changes/additions/deletions in the Academic Queueafter the initial optimization of the schedule.
- Make classroom reservations for classes in SPH privateclassroom space.
- Request room changes through the Office of Classroom Schedulingfor classes held in University space.
- Attend monthly Schedulers' meetings.
- Add new courses to the catalog in Banner.
- Banner:
Maintain student records to ensure accuracy;
Correctcensus errors for Board of Regents compliance;
Process Transfer Credits;
Assist in testing Banner upgrades. - Crystal Reports:
Provide admissions and enrollment data for internal college use as well as external parties. - Scribe:
Create and update blocks of program information toreflect the curriculums for the PhD, MPH, and Certificateprograms. - CAPP:
Run academic evaluations and graduation audits for students who started SPH prior to Fall 2013. - Degree Works:
Run academic evaluations and graduation auditsfor students who started in SPH after Fall 2013. - Attend Degree Works meetings and training sessions;
Testvarious components. - SOPHAS:
Implement new admissions program and work with SOPHAS,Liaison International and GSU. - Student Systems Office to set up interface between SOPHAS and Banner using Axiom.
- Assist Director in daily operations, as needed.
- Participants in the hiring of OAA staff.
- Assists with staff transitions in the OAA by temporarilyassuming duties of vacant positions until filled.
- Ensures adequate coverage of key areas in the OAA.
- Represents SPH in the Graduate Issues Working Group.
- Fill in for Director, as needed.
Minimum Requirements :
- Bachelor's degree in a related field and four years of supervisory/management experience; or a combination of education and related experience.
- Knowledge of SLATE, SOPHAS, Degree Works, ARGOS, Banner,Scribe, and Ad Astra.
