Description

The Department of Physical Therapy at Georgia State University invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor. We seek scholars in movement science whose research aligns with core areas including physical therapy, rehabilitation technologies, or regenerative rehabilitation. The successful candidate will join a department committed to scientific discovery, clinical excellence, and transformative education.

Required Experience

For Associate Professor rank:
At least 7 years of prior academic experience with a strong record of research productivity, including publications in top-tier journals and successful grantsmanship.

Required Education

Applicants must hold a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree in a discipline related to physical therapy and/or movement science with expertise in physical therapy, rehabilitation-related biomedical engineering, or regenerative rehabilitation.

Preferred Qualifications /Experience
  • A record of securing extramural funding
  • A strong, peer-reviewed publication history
  • Demonstrated excellence in mentoring and teaching diverse student populations
  • Candidates who have completed a postdoctoral fellowship if applying for the rank of Assistant Professor
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Licenses, Certifications, or Registrations, etc

Candidates must be eligible for physical therapy licensure in the State of Georgia

Pre-Employment Requirements

A criminal background check and official transcripts are required.

Work Hours

Flexible Schedule. University Hours of Operation:
Monday – Friday; 8:30am – 5:15pm

Salary

Salary is competitive and commensurate with experience and qualifications.
