Training Coordinator

• Fair use principals and copyright restrictions regarding the development and delivery of training programs.
• Continuing education requirements for professional licensing certifications or mandates.
• Conference planning and scheduling.

This position is responsible for coordinating, implementing, and evaluating training and development programs for conferences and seminars.

• Coordinates and maintains the scheduling of training facilities, training, conference registrations, resources, exhibitors, and training instructors.
• Provides technical and/or administrative assistance to agencies regarding executive leadership/development and training.
• Identifies, develops, and monitors the use of subject matter experts who provide curricular and instructional content for training courses.
• Communicates with diverse audiences to provide information and clarification regarding training programs, actions, policies, and procedures.
• Mentors new instructors to develop an on-going resource pool of skilled instructors for training programs and/or conferences/seminars.
• Attends committee planning meetings and networks with law enforcement trainers throughout Georgia and the U.S.
• Updates GA POST training records and ensures that all records of training activities are maintained.
• Assists with other GACP functions as assigned.
• Observes training provided by GACP and makes recommendations regarding effectiveness of topic and delivery.
• Meets deadlines and goals to ensure classes are at capacity and are planned logistically

Bachelor’s degree in Public Administration, Criminal Justice, Business, Communications, Education/Adult Learning, or related field preferred; and five years of experience preferably in training or facilitation or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above.

Georgia Drivers License (Required)

Georgia POST Instructor Certification (Preferred but not required)

Basic Law Enforcement Certification (Preferred but not required)

• Planning, organizing and coordinating multiple events/projects
• Utilizing mobile app platforms and various databases
• Determining and evaluating training needs
• Formulating concepts and developing solutions for training needs
• Operating instructional, presentational, audiovisual, and teleconferencing equipment
• Developing spreadsheets or other software programs to record training
• Communicating (both oral and written) with employees, coworkers, supervisor, the general public, etc. sufficiently to exchange or convey information
• Using computer software systems, particularly Microsoft Office Products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, Planner and Outlook).

Typically requires climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, typing, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, seeing and repetitive motions.

Light Work:
The position may require exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. If the use of arm and/or leg controls requires exertion of forces greater than that for sedentary work and the worker sits most of the time, the job is rated for light work.

Must be able to travel within the state regularly and out of state on a limited basis.

Entry salary for this position depends on qualifications (DOQ) of the selected candidate and is $70,. Benefits package includes Qualified Small Employer HRA (QSEHRA) plan, 401/457 retirement benefits, paid vacation, holiday and sick leave.
