Nature and Scope:

Under the direction of the After School Director, 21st Century Instructional Coordinator will be primarily responsible for support and delivery of the Academic component of the 21st CCL site through eLearning opportunities. This position develops and leads the strategy for the delivery of the Academic support by working with teachers and directly/virtually with students. This includes working with the Program Director, Site Coordinators and teaching staff in meeting Bright From The Start and 21st CCLC requirements.

This position directly supports the academic activities during the beginning of the program. The 20-hour program will include the following academic instruction, tutoring, homework assistance and STEAM project base learning opportunities for the students. This position will play a key role in the 21st CCLC Team in delivering academic instruction.

RESPONSIBILITIES (including, but not limited to):

Carry out daily program tasks related directly to the position's scope and responsibility.

Stay updated on current issues regarding 21st CCLC programming.

Promote, monitor, evaluate and ensure that 21st CCLC site run smoothly with a high level of service to participants.

Timely collection and submittal of data/reports as required by 21st CCLC, Bright From The Start and CACFP.Maintain branch and association certifications in CPR, Multi-Media First Aid, Bloodborne Pathogens, Metro Atlanta YMCA New Staff Orientation and Branch and off-site Emergency procedures and any other required certifications and/or training required by the Metro Atlanta YMCA.Assist as needed in all aspects of the YMCA and school community.

Participation in and partner with After School cabinet activities.

Responsible for maintaining and reporting incident/accident paperwork in a timely fashion.

Develop age and/or grade level appropriate lessons.

Provide homework and class work instruction and tutorials.

Collaborates with youth, parents, and school day teachers to ensure that youth receive effective academic sessions.

Facilitates all academic sessions and serves as the lead academic instructor.

Develop assessment tools to document academic progress.

REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelor’s degree and/or Georgia Teaching Certificate preferred

Must be at least 21 years of ageA minimum of 2 years’ experience in working with in Title 1 schools preferredA minimum of 2 years’ experience in working in extended day programming

Required certifications, Teaching Certificate; must obtain any other certifications required for the position

Ability to obtain working knowledge of 21st CCLC requirementsA working knowledge of computers: MS Word, MS Excel, data base management
