HERE IS
WHAT YOU WILL DO:
The ideal candidate for this position will primarily focuses on academic success and achievement through systematic tracking of seniors in the CAS to increase student graduation rates. This position requires a high degree of auditing accuracy and knowledge of academic programs in the CAS and working with CAS faculty and staff to secure viable solutions in support of degree progression and completion.
The Graduation Counselor will work with academic departments and academic advisors to collaborate, identify, and develop academic plans that will help students persist through graduation. This position will develop and analyze data to assist the Director and Associate Director in identifying and correcting challenges concerning degree completion. Also, this position will develop practices and processes to determine targeted intervention strategies.
The position will also work with the Grad Team on the Come Back, Pounce Forward program in addition to specific functions related to the promotion of CAS related student support services. Responsible for assisting with centralizing and streamlining advising efforts, ensuring consistency and effectiveness in guiding students towards their educational goals, as well as provide leadership and direction for the academic advising team to support student success, retention, progression, and graduation.
The essential duties and responsibilities of the Graduation Counselor are the following:
* Counsels and assists undergraduate students who are approaching graduation and/or have exceeded a degree program timeline or credit hours earned within a curriculum.
* Performs pre-term, initial, and future term graduation review and outreach.
* Directs students to available campus resources for academic success. Serves as back-up academic advisor during peak times.
* Performs non-course requirement review and outreach, reconciles graduation audits, serves on the Course Program of Study review team, and serves as liaison with the UAC cohort team.
* Performs duties related to the Come Back, Pounce Forward, and other special projects.
* Assists the OM leadership team in implementing programs and practices for the academic departments in identifying and correcting challenges concerning degree completion.
* Collaborates with academic advisors in identifying challenges to academic progress and facilitating progression toward a degree.
* Serves as liaison to University offices, such as the University Advisement Center, Financial Aid, Student Accounts, and Admissions.
* Directs students to available campus resources for academic success.
* Performs other related duties and special projects assigned.
Minimum Requirements:
* Bachelor's degree and four years of related experience; or a combination of education and related experience.
