Job Summary
The Student Assistant will support the Dean's Office of the Allen
E. Paulson College of Engineering and Computing as an Engineering Ambassador on the Statesboro Campus beginning Fall 2026.
Student employees cannot work more than 1300 hours in a 12-consecutive month period.
Responsibilities
- Lead tours of engineering facilities for prospective students and families
- Organize and conduct engineering outreach activities at local schools
- Represent the college at recruitment events such as college fairs and information sessions
- Support the creation and distribution of promotional materials (brochures, videos, social media content)
- Participate in virtual and in-person informational sessions
- Share personal student experiences to inspire prospective students
- Provide information on admissions, programs, and careers in engineering
- Assist with coordination of shadow days and campus visits
- Represent the college at community/STEM events
- Set up and break down recruitment events
- Engage professionally with prospective students and maintain a welcoming atmosphere
- Attend meetings and collaborate with faculty and staff on recruitment initiatives
- Collect feedback to enhance outreach efforts
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs and stand for extended periods during events
- Up to 10 hours per week
- Flexible with schedule of availability
Educational Requirements
- Must be enrolled in six or more undergraduate credit hours or three or more graduate credit hours at Georgia Southern University.
Preferred Education
- 2.5 or higher GPA requirement
- A student pursuing a degree in the College of Engineering and Computing
$15.00 per hour
This is a non-exempt position paid on a biweekly basis.
