Under the direct supervision of the Director of Training and Development, this position supports organization-wide training activities and coordinates youth development training for Club staff. The Training and Development Manager manages logistics and coordination for training initiatives and oversees the Centers of Excellence and Innovation process to help Youth Development Professionals design, plan, and deliver high-quality Club and staff experiences that lead to greater impact for youth.
ESSENTIALJOB FUNCTIONS AND
ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Oversee training logistics, including scheduling, participant communications, materials preparation, and session setup, to support the successful delivery of organization-wide learning initiatives.
- Collaborate with the Director of Training and Development to create and maintain monthly and annual organizational training calendars.
- Deliver youth development and professional development training and learning activities for Club staff.
- Manage online learning management systems and available training resources to support training strategies.
- Partner with external groups to coordinate training opportunities.
- Develop learning activities, audio-visual materials, instructor guides, and lesson plans as necessary.
- All other duties as assigned.
- At least two (2) years of direct youth development work required.
- One to two (1-2) years of adult learning experience required.
- Ability to develop and implement engaging, hands-on learning experiences.
- Ability to identify and communicate effective youth learning practices in an after-school environment and train Youth Development Professionals on those practices.
- Critical thinking.
- Project planning and organizational skills.
- The ability to communicate information and ideas so others will understand.
- Ability to collaborate cross-functionally with teams across the organization.
- Demonstrated ability to deliver engaging learning activities.
- Demonstrated ability to train in positive youth development.
- Two or more years of administrative experience with strong attention to detail.
- Flexibility to work a variable schedule as dictated by programming and meeting schedules.
- Ability to communicate effectively with diverse audiences verbally, in writing, through presentations, and electronically.
- Ability to manage multiple projects while balancing day-to-day responsibilities.
- Strong planning and organizational skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Strong oral, written, and presentation communication skills.
The work environment characteristics described below are representative of those an employee may encounter while performing the essential functions of this job. Physical requirements include sight, hearing, sitting for four or more hours per day, and light lifting.
Maintains oral and written communication with operations staff and other BGCMA departments to exchange information. Work is generally performed in a normal internal office environment, with weekly travel to Metro Atlanta Club locations. Occasional weekend and evening work may be required to support programs or related activities. Up to 80% of time spent working with Club staff and team members to plan, coordinate, and deliver effective, high-impact learning opportunities.
Must be able to work afternoon and evening hours to accommodate Club staff schedules.
Non-exempt employees are entitled, under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA), to one and one-half times their regular rate of pay for each hour worked over the applicable FLSA overtime threshold during the applicable FLSA work period.
