WHAT YOU WILL DO:

The ideal candidate for this position will support the Faculty Affairs Unit within the College of Arts and Sciences Dean's Office. The day-to-day duties include gathering, compiling, archiving, and formatting data regarding faculty research, teaching, and service for all structured faculty reviews along with applications for promotion. In addition, this position supports the tenure-on-appointment, emeritus, clock stoppage, and graduate faculty status petitions.

This work is predominantly performed in the online review system, lnterfolio, and there is additional administrative supported provided to the College's 560 faculty via SharePoint. Lastly, this position assists with the monitoring of the Faculty Review Services non-person email account.

The essential duties and responsibilities of the Administrative Specialist I are the following:

  • Develop and maintain records of faculty review activity. This includes a creation of templates for each structured review for 550 regular TT and NTT faculty, formatting & proofreading a final draft of structured reviews and promotion applications, especially evaluations created by the College of Arts & Sciences P&T area committees, and the Dean's Office assessment of candidates.
  • Interfacing with sources of faculty review data outside of the Dean's office e.g. student evaluation instrument data, department level evaluation, external review letters of scholarship.
  • Create, update, and manage FRS web content on a quarterly basis.
  • Collect, edit, write design, format, construct and update 3 separate pages under the Faculty Affairs website, Regularly update site to target specific internal (faculty and staff) and external audiences (potential new faculty hires) as suggested by A&S Public Relations. Video capturing and editing with faculty /staff to upload to website.
  • Develop and maintain resources to support department- and college-level review of faculty. This includes preparation and dissemination of materials guiding faculty through.
  • The various review processes; providing support to the Faculty Review Services Coordinator in the development of training materials for area committee review work; development and dissemination of materials to support department chairs and P&T committees in their review of TT & NTT faculty.
  • Providing materials as requested to the Associate Dean for Faculty Affairs in the creation and revision of faculty of view policies.
  • Work with the Administrative Specialist who supports A&S Faculty Affairs to develop.
  • up-to-date content regarding faculty review for dissemination to the full faculty via the College of Arts & Sciences Faculty Affairs website, monthly digests, and targeted faculty mentoring events.
  • General faculty affairs support and provide ongoing clerical and office support to the Faculty Review Services Coordinator as needed to develop and innovate faculty review processes as needed to keep the College of Arts & Sciences in compliance with USG and GSU faculty review policies and processes.
