The Sr. Manager, Training Development leads the strategy, development, and continuous improvement of training curriculum, programs, and learning tools that enable Team Members and Managers to successfully execute the Shake Shack experience.

This role owns the development and maintenance of training curriculum within Wisetail, ensuring learning content is accurate, engaging, relevant, and aligned with operational standards and business priorities. The Sr. Manager partners closely with the Training Growth team, Restaurant Operations, Restaurant Excellence, and cross-functional partners within the Support Center to translate new initiatives, operational changes, and business needs into effective learning solutions.

While the Training Development team owns curriculum and content development, successful training execution requires close partnership with the Training Growth team and field leadership to ensure programs are practical, scalable, and effective in the Shacks.

• Leads the strategy, design, development, and continuous improvement of Team Member and Manager training programs, curriculum, courses, learning materials, QRGs, and supporting tools.
• Owns training curriculum development and maintenance within Wisetail, ensuring content remains accurate, current, organized, and aligned with operational standards.
• Leads the training development process for new products, programs, systems, equipment, and operational initiatives being introduced to Shacks.
• Partners with Training Growth and field Operations to gather input and ensure training solutions are practical, relevant, and executable in the Shack environment.
• Establishes and manages training development standards, templates, processes, and timelines to create consistency across learning materials.
• Leads the intake and prioritization process for training requests from cross-functional partners.
• Translates complex operational information and SOPs into clear, simple, and engaging learning experiences for Team Members and Managers.
• Partners with subject matter experts validate training content and ensure alignment between SOPs, training materials, and operational expectations.
• Leads the ongoing assessment of training programs and uses field feedback, learner insights, operational results, and other available data to identify opportunities for improvement.
• Ensures training content is designed with the end user in mind and incorporates appropriate adult-learning and instructional-design principles.
• Identifies opportunities to evolve training delivery through digital learning, video, interactive content, job aids, and other learning technologies.
• Establishes clear project plans, milestones, stakeholder reviews, and approval processes to ensure training materials are delivered on time and cross-functional alignment is achieved before launch.
• Leads, coaches, and develops the Training Development team while establishing clear priorities, expectations, and accountability.
