Program Assistant AmeriCorps Member

Ameri Corps Members support Dream Scholars and their families by assisting the Program Director in planning and delivering year-round academic, social-emotional, college and career readiness, and family engagement programming. Members mentor an assigned caseload of 15–25 students, providing individualized guidance, tutoring, and encouragement while serving as positive role models. Responsibilities include leading group activities and enrichment sessions, supporting classroom instruction during the school day, coordinating volunteers, organizing educational field trips, and fostering parent engagement through workshops and events.

Members collaborate with school staff and community partners, help develop career exploration and workforce readiness opportunities, and maintain accurate student records, including academic progress, attendance, participation, interventions, and family engagement, to support student success.

Mentor an assigned caseload of 15–25 “Dream Scholars” as a positive role model and guide

Plan and lead in-school and after-school academic, social-emotional, and enrichment activities

Push into classrooms and tutor students one-on-one or in small groups

Support volunteer tutors, mentors, and other program volunteers

Engage parents through workshops, discussion groups, and program activities

Build college and career awareness through job training and internship opportunities

Maintain student records and support site office operations
