Job Description:

Atlanta Technical College (ATC) is seeking highly qualified applicants for its Adjunct Instructor – Barbering (Part
- Time) position in the Business and Public Service Technologies (BPST) Division. This position is part-time and located on Atlanta Tech's Main Campus, just South of Downtown Atlanta.

Under general supervision of the Dean of Business & Public Service technologies and the Cosmetology Department Chair, the Adjunct Instructor – Barbering (Part
- Time) will demonstrate a passion for teaching and commitment to helping students develop essential barbering skills. This is a part-time position, working up to twenty-nine (29) hours per week.

Duties and responsibilities include, but may not be limited to the following:
Develop and implement detailed lesson plans and curricula for barbering courses Instruct students on various barbering techniques, including haircutting, styling, and shaving Demonstrate proper use and maintenance of barbering tools and equipment

Monitor student progress and provide constructive feedback

Prepare students for state licensure exams and ensure compliance with state requirements

Maintain an organized and safe classroom environment

Coordinate and supervise hands-on training sessions and practical exams

Stay updated with the latest trends and techniques in the barbering industry

Evaluate and grade students' performance and practical skills

Assist in the development and revision of training materials Foster a positive and engaging learning atmosphere

Provide mentorship and career guidance to students; and Perform other duties as assigned

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Must possess and demonstrate the following:

High School Diploma or GEDMust have a valid Georgia Cosmetology Instructor License Minimum of three (3) - five (5) years of professional barbering experience

Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends

Experience with curriculum development and lesson planning

Previous experience as a barbering instructor or in a similar teaching role

Experience with digital learning tools and online education platforms

Advanced knowledge of current barbering techniques and trends

Barber Instructor License with experience is preferred PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Teaching responsibilities are typically performed in a classroom/lab environment with the employee intermittently sitting, standing, walking, bending, pushing, and pulling for three ( 3 ) – four ( 4 ) continuous hours at a time; and may occasionally lift up to 25lbs.
