Field/Service Technician
Location:
Georgia – Atlanta, United States. Shift: 1st.
Under direction of the Area Service Manager, develops customer satisfaction through technical repair, installation, training, operation, and maintenance of Werfen instruments and systems. The position may have a specific assigned territory or system population, or may cover other assigned territories as needed.
Responsibilities- Provides highly visible customer support through on‑site installations and necessary diagnostics, troubleshooting, service and repair of complex instruments and systems.
- Performs routine and some non‑routine technical repairs of all systems, including updates, retrofits, PMs, and product enhancements.
- Instructs customers in the proper operation, maintenance and troubleshooting of Werfen instruments and systems.
- Is responsible for complying with all appropriate regulatory bodies (FDA, ISO, Health Canada) mandated policies, procedures, work instructions, and records.
- Serves as a company liaison with customers.
- Responsible for routine interaction with sales counterparts regarding customer situations, updates, and lead generation.
- Assures financial stability and viability of the territory by promoting and selling service agreements, PMs, and other services.
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Area Service Manager.
- Associate’s Degree in Electronics, Biomedical Engineering, Medical Technology or related field.
- Must possess organizational skills, the ability to multi‑task, work under pressure and exercise good judgment.
- Ability to communicate effectively with customers, peers and management through oral and written presentations/reports.
- Must have basic MS Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) including the ability to manipulate data and build presentations.
- Travel is required.
- Minimum 30% auto travel within the primary assigned territory.
- Minimum 10% air travel for training, business meetings and/or support to customers outside the primary or assigned territory.
The hourly rate range for this role is currently $35/hr to $40/hr individual compensation depends on education, experience, skillset, knowledge and business needs. The role is eligible for medical, dental and vision insurance, 401(k) retirement benefits with an employer match, and paid vacation and sick leave. Sales roles are eligible to participate in a commission plan and selected professional roles may qualify for a performance‑based bonus.
