How you'll help us Keep Climbing (overview & key responsibilities)
Working in a team environment, Simulator Support co-ops design and perform hardware and software modifications to Delta's fleet of flight training devices/simulators, ensuring training devices meet FAA requirements, and pilot training needs.
Summary of responsibilities (not comprehensive of all tasks):- Reports to Delta’s manager of simulator engineering.
- Integrates software modifications into flight training devices/simulators in order to maintain commonality with Delta’s fleet of aircraft.
- Designs hardware modifications of the training devices per simulator and aircraft manufacturers’ service bulletins.
- Assist with acceptance testing of new flight training devices/simulators, and with the annual FAA requalification of the devices.
- Practices safety conscious behaviors in all operational processes and procedures
- Working as a Co-op does not guarantee a full-time opportunity upon graduation. This position is intended to provide you with educational and professional work experience to prepare you for the workforce.
- This position requires you to work for 3 alternating semesters. You cannot actively take any courses (inclusive of online or in-person) and work as a Co-op at the same time, which may delay your graduation by 1-2 semesters.
- Students must be able to complete 3 alternating rotations in Atlanta, GA in line with the below schedule:
- Fall 2026 - 1st rotation
- Summer 2027 - 2nd rotation
- Spring 2028 - 3rd rotation
- Working towards a bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science or related discipline.
- Experience with software editing, code debugging, and revision control using various computer platforms and operating systems.
- Strong technical, analytical, mathematical, and organizational skills, and be capable of handling multiple projects simultaneously.
- Must perform with a high level of accuracy.
- Excellent verbal and written skills.
- Consistently prioritizes safety and security of self, others, and personal data.
- Embraces diverse people, thinking, and styles.
- Possesses a high school diploma, GED, or high school equivalency.
- Is at least 18 years of age and has authorization to work in the United States.
