Project Controls Specialist I
The primary duties of this position include successful leadership of multiple projects and key client relationships for projects in our Energy, Transmission and Distribution group.
Specific Responsibilities- Develop, maintain, and monitor detailed project schedules for energy, transmission, and distribution projects across all project phases.
- Lead preparation of project execution plans, schedule updates, progress reports, and change management documentation.
- Analyze schedule performance, identify variances, and recommend corrective actions to maintain project timelines.
- Support development of Work Breakdown Structures (WBS) and integrate scheduling with procurement, engineering, and financial systems.
- Incorporate approved change orders, scope adjustments, and schedule impacts into baseline schedules.
- Apply advanced scheduling concepts, including resource loading, cost loading, critical path analysis, float management, and earned value techniques.
- Facilitate schedule review and change order meetings with internal teams and stakeholders.
- Coordinate with owners, contractors, and regulatory bodies to ensure alignment on project timelines and deliverables.
- Maintain accurate documentation and ensure compliance with project controls procedures, contract terms, and reporting standards.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, business, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in project controls, scheduling, and cost tracking, preferably within the utility or infrastructure sectors.
- Strong proficiency in scheduling software (e.g., Primavera P6, MS Project) and Microsoft Office applications.
- Solid understanding of project lifecycle phases, WBS development, and earned value management.
- Familiarity with contract terms and their impact on schedule and deliverables.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present data clearly to stakeholders.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet tight deadlines.
