Overview
This role is hybrid position based in Atlanta, GA. This position requires occasional overnight travel for in person meetings and site visits, not expected to exceed 10%.
As a Project Manager - Gas Distribution, you'll be responsible for managing multiple projects concurrently and utility company program work; direct supervisory responsibilities for other staff members that may include other Project Managers or senior technical leads for specific project responsibilities of natural gas pipeline and facility projects. Be a major contributor to growth in the Southeast Region.
What You’ll Do- Manage all projects that are assigned by the Business Unit Leader (BUL) to ensure the projects meet all required project measurements and indicators for performance which have been set by either the client or internally. These performance indicators include, but are not limited to, schedule performance, project budget performance, project profitability, client relationship and satisfaction, and project quality control.
- Maintain, implement, and monitor a system of quality control and check on all projects assigned.
- Assist in developing strategic plans for the Business Unit and assisting with developing and implementing programs to achieve strategic growth plans for the Business Unit and Firm.
- Develop and maintain quality relationships with clients.
- Assist with identifying the resource needs of the Business Unit by tracking resource requirements of all projects assigned on an ongoing basis and communicating the resource needs to the BUL.
- Assist the Business Unit Leader (BUL) in identifying key talent and resources within or for the Business Unit.
- Develop and manage proposals.
- Lead, train and mentor a group of engineers.
- Preform all other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited university.
- Minimum 6 years of project management experience with a pipeline operating company or at an engineering consulting firm in the natural gas industry.
- Minimum 2 years of work experience in managing a team.
- Experience with natural gas design and installation (pipelines/facilities/regulator stations).
- Registration as a professional engineer is preferred.
- PMP certification is optional.
