Qualifications
- Over 5 years of experience in product management focusing on hardware, connected devices, wearables, IoT, or similar physical products
- Deep knowledge of hardware development, testing, certification, and production processes
- Proven expertise in drafting product requirements and hardware specifications based on customer and operational feedback
- Demonstrated capacity to make informed product decisions while balancing technical considerations in collaboration with hardware and firmware engineering teams
- Experience working with operations, supply chain partners, and engineering to transition hardware from prototype to full production
- Familiarity with working alongside ODM or OEM manufacturers throughout the prototyping, testing, certification, and mass production ramp-up
- Ability to assess customer needs, operational data, and product performance to guide roadmap strategies
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, able to distill complex concepts for varied audiences
- Skillful at managing multiple priorities while driving transparency, decisions, and alignment across interdisciplinary teams
- Must reside in the Atlanta metropolitan area; while the role is predominantly remote, occasional in-office presence (few times per month) at our Marietta office is required
- Bachelors degree
- Define the strategy, roadmap, and lifecycle for IoT hardware devices and accessories from conception to launch and subsequent enhancements
- Conduct customer and market research to grasp real-world workflows, constraints, and challenges that inform product decisions
- Identify customer and operational challenges and translate them into product requirements and success metrics that meet performance, environmental, and certification standards
- Prioritize product investments based on customer value, business impact, technical feasibility, and timelines
- Collaborate with engineering on product choices that align cost, reliability, performance, size, battery life, certification, and user experience
- Work with engineering, manufacturing, and operations throughout prototyping, testing, and production phases to verify the product meets launch success criteria
- Partner with supply chain, manufacturing, and operations to facilitate development, certification, and production while adhering to requirements and launch objectives
- Proactively address risks and constraints while promoting clarity on decisions and trade-offs that lead to successful outcomes
- Ensure launch readiness of positioning, documentation, and training resources, maintaining their accuracy throughout the product lifecycle
- Track product performance post-launch and integrate insights for roadmap improvements
