Job SummaryThe Network Security Engineer will support client’s network security initiatives, focusing on implementation and changes to edge firewalls. This role requires a strong understanding of core network security technologies including firewalls, VPN concentrators, SSL-VPN devices, and reverse proxies. The engineer will support secure connectivity between client’s and external environments such as customers, partners, and Internet-facing systems. Responsibilities include first-line support for inbound Internet gateway changes and securing access for employee-owned and customer-owned devices.
Key Responsibilities- Review network security events and alerts within monitoring systems.
- Maintain, configure, and troubleshoot network security platforms.
- Maintain and update technical documentation as needed.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or equivalent experience.
- 5–8 years of IT experience, with at least 4 years in networking and/or security.
- Experience with IP networking, VPNs, and firewalling concepts.
- Deep understanding of modern network security technologies and principles.
- Strong understanding of firewall rules, policies, ports, blocks, and VPN technologies.
- Hands-on experience with Fortinet Firewalls (required).
- Experience with routers and switches.
- Experience with secure remote access tools:
Zscaler ZPA, Forti Client. - Experience with infrastructure tools such as Solar Winds, Thousand Eyes, Algo Sec, Terraform, Git Hub, Forti Manager, and Forti Analyzer.
The annual salary range for this role is $114,000 – $134,000 USD, depending on experience, skills, and location. This role may also be eligible for performance-based bonuses in accordance with applicable plans.
