This division provides consulting and CM services from within the Fortune-Johnson team, backed by the resources and support for its consulting work.
Position SummaryFortune-Johnson General Contractors is seeking a Project Scheduler/Project Planner to join our team. The ideal candidate is a self-starter that embraces ambiguity, thinks big, and brings their own uncompromising standards of excellence.
The Project Scheduler (PSCH) facilitates the development of the project schedule to support the logistics plan in collaboration with Operations and Preconstruction Departments. While the work of a scheduler is highly technical and requires strong software skills the PSCH is more than a software technician; the PSCH serves as another set of eyes monitoring the health of a project.

Job Responsibilities
- Lead the schedule development process by developing accurate and comprehensive schedules in the predevelopment stage in collaboration with the Operations/Project Team.
- Develop compelling key plans and visual tools that aide in the communication of the plan.
- Demonstrate thorough understanding of the construction processes and common means and methods to build multifamily projects.
- Facilitate collaborative onsite near-term schedule updates with field team and subcontractors using principles like Pull-Planning. Navigate updates with diverse personality types and communication styles with a focus on accountability to the plan and problem solving. Provide live feedback and critical insights to the Project Team in the meeting so that field staff can make informed decisions.
- Analyze near-term updates against baselines, perform what-if analyses, and develop and present contingency plans to mitigate delays and ensure accuracy of project schedules and performed version control.
- Produce accurate reports and narratives for leadership and the project team. Identify critical items that cannot be ignored.
- Create time-impact analyses for delay claims and communication with Ownership.
- Earn Part 107 FAA Drone Certification and fly a drone for aerial photography at each site visit.
- Bachelor’s degree in construction, related field and/or previous experience as a Project Scheduler
- Excellent with technology such as Excel, MS Project, P6 and adaptable to new software and scheduling methods (Visio time scale network logic diagram)
- Pull planning experience preferred
- Excellent communicator and ability to facilitate meetings
- Strong organizational skills
- Excellent coachable team player
- Ability to maintain focus while working in a high level, fast paced environment.
