A well-established technical services organization is seeking a Senior Environmental Test Engineer to support its vibration and environmental testing laboratory. This role is based in the Metro Atlanta area and supports a broad range of industrial, aerospace, and defence-related testing programs.
The organization provides independent testing, inspection, and engineering services to clients across multiple regulated industries, with a long-standing focus on safety, reliability, and technical excellence.
Position Summary
The Senior Dynamics Test Engineer will play a key role in executing and supporting vibration and environmental test programs while contributing to continuous improvement efforts within the laboratory. This individual will work closely with a small, collaborative technical team and provide mentorship to less-experienced staff.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute vibration and environmental testing programs for a variety of applications, including automotive, aerospace, and defence-related components
- Support the development and improvement of laboratory best practices, including equipment care and preventive maintenance
- Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior technicians
- Accurately document test setups, procedures, results, and observations through detailed data sheets and formal reports
- Perform testing in accordance with established industry standards as well as custom client-specific procedures
- Maintain strong organization of test documentation and project deliverables
- Operate effectively in a fast-paced laboratory environment and adapt to changing priorities
Required Skills & Experience
- 5+ years of hands-on experience in a vibration or dynamics testing laboratory
- Strong understanding of dynamics and vibration testing principles
- Experience operating and maintaining electrodynamic shaker systems and controllers
- Familiarity with relevant industry test standards (e.g., environmental and vibration qualification standards)
- Experience working with temperature and humidity chambers
- Prior leadership or supervisory experience preferred
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency with common office software tools for documentation and reporting
- Ability to multitask, work independently, and contribute within a growing technical team
