The Principal position is designed for the firm’s most accomplished professionals who demonstrate mastery in their field of study and are recognized as a thought leader by external industry professionals as well as within their Design Group practice. Principals are highly sought after by our clients and our project execution teams for their technical expertise and consistently generate the highest billable fees in the firm through combination of commanding top tier rates and strong output of billable hours.

You’ll work individually and in teams to support capital projects and implement solutions for our clients. Together, you will help our clients make critical changes to improve their performance and realize their most important goals.

• Work with engineers, designers, and other professional consultants to design facilities for industrial manufacturing and distribution operations

• Develop Mechanical solutions for customers’ business needs as part of an integrated project team

• Lead Mechanical design for industrial projects (manufacturing plants, distribution centers, cold storage facilities, warehouses) and work with in‑house multi‑disciplinary engineering project teams

• Stamp and sign all Mechanical construction documents

• Conduct project site visits and act as a construction administrator

• Conduct code research specific to the project site, program, and proposed use

• Create renderings that communicate concepts to the client

• Develop the base plan and communicate requirements to other engineering disciplines

• Develop schematic design including sketches

• Research material options or alternative building methods as necessary

• Develop specifications and oversee preparation of plans and related documents for permit acquisition and construction

• Answer RFIs and review submittals and shop drawings throughout the pre‑construction and construction phases of the project

• Manage and provide guidance to mechanical designers

• Make an impact day‑to‑day with your skills and expertise, strengthening that relationship with our clients and team
