OverviewExponent is a premium engineering and scientific consulting firm offering multidisciplinary expertise in safety and sustainability across various industries.
Responsibilities- Managing projects from initiation to completion; communicating project updates to team members, clients, and staff; ensuring deadlines and high‑quality work; identifying business development opportunities.
- Identifying and performing original research that furthers knowledge in accident reconstruction or automotive technology.
- Developing specialized expertise in automotive fields such as design, performance of existing or emerging automotive technology, or analysis and reconstruction of transportation accidents.
- Traveling to perform site, scene, vehicle, and equipment inspections.
- Preparing written reports and presenting results to diverse audiences.
- Willing and able to work overtime occasionally to fulfill client needs.
- Master’s degree (with thesis) or Ph.D. in Engineering, at least one in Mechanical Engineering.
- Legally authorized to work in the United States (no immigration sponsorship required).
- Knowledge and interest in automotive systems and vehicles.
- Field and/or lab measurement experience with excellent hands‑on skills.
- Analytical and problem‑solving skills.
- Knowledge of dynamics, mechanical design, and 3D CAD.
- PE license or willingness to obtain one.
- Strong leadership, verbal communication, and ability to synthesize & present technical information to non‑technical audiences.
- Clear written communication and technical writing skills.
- Experience writing a thesis, dissertation, peer‑reviewed paper, and/or presenting at conferences.
- Proven dedication to quality and accuracy.
