Overview
Remote (Preferably Midwest, Southeast, East Coast) | Travel 20-25%
Well-established chemical manufacturer looking for a strong sourcing professional to own capital equipment procurement across North America. This is a high-impact role partnering with engineering, manufacturing, and project teams to drive supplier strategy, negotiations, and total cost of ownership.
What we need to see- 5+ years with a bachelor’s OR 10+ years without a degree in progressive buying/sourcing
- Technical background with capital equipment (process, mechanical, electrical, rotating, instrumentation)
- Experience negotiating complex equipment & service contracts
- Preferred industries: specialty chemical, petrochemical, or pharmaceutical manufacturing
- ERP experience (SAP ideal) + strong Excel/data skills
- Build category strategies for major process & fixed equipment
- Lead RFx events and supplier negotiations
- Partner with engineering & operations on capital projects
- Manage supplier performance, warranties, and risk
- Deliver measurable savings and productivity improvements
