The team's engineering roles include Applied Systems Engineering, Datalink Engineering, Embedded Software, Enterprise Software and Test Engineering. This position would support these efforts as a test engineer. This is a full-time research position which reports to the Quality Control and Test Branch Head.
JobPurpose
The Systems Engineer oversees and coordinates the work of technical teams on systems projects, ensuring the successful design, implementation, operation, and technical management of those projects. Taking a holistic approach to systems engineering, the Systems Engineer ensures that all aspects of a system project are considered and addressed. The Systems Engineer works closely with stakeholders to understand their needs and then develops and documents technical requirements that meet those needs.
The Systems Engineer leads the design team in developing a system architecture that meets all of the requirements. After the system is designed, the Systems Engineer oversees the implementation of the system, working with the implementation team to ensure that it meets all of the requirements. Once the system is deployed, the Systems Engineer manages the technical aspects of the system, including monitoring performance, troubleshooting problems, and making improvements.
- Facilitate product or system requirements gathering and analysis with sponsors and other key stakeholders.
- Verify systems engineering product life-cycle components to include definitions, requirements analysis, synthesis, systems analysis and implementation.
- Conduct product or system design synthesis translating requirements into physical architectures for systems of moderate complexity to include defining and refining internal and external interfaces.
- Develop and contribute to technical reports and diagrams detailing product or system attributes.
- Analyze product or system functionality as defined by requirements.
- Analyze product or system functionality as defined by requirements.
- Interface with and learn how to work with disparate engineering teams for technical tasking.
- Developing and updating test scripts, plans, procedures and report documentation.
- Execute developed test procedures and document results in a formal setting.
- Technically coordinate a cross-functional team to develop test solutions for our DOD sponsors ensuring all products meet allocated requirements and design through formal testing.
- Create and maintain test scripts, files and data that support formal testing.
- Work in an integrated product team and understand system and unit level requirements in order to create test plans and procedures.
- Utilize existing system specifications, interface definitions, and aircraft avionics in the development of test procedures.
- Ensure that all technical work is performed and documented to appropriate professional standards.
- Develop test estimates for proposed work and status current tasking.
