As a Regional Environmental Engineer (REE), you will be responsible for environmental compliance at AWS data centers in Missouri. You will develop standards and policies, perform environmental performance analysis, establish and monitor metrics, and guide teams in implementing Amazon environmental standards. You will provide guidance and build relationships with internal and external partners, including regulators, contractors, consultants, and stakeholders. This position is based in New Florence, MO and requires travel throughout the state.
Key Responsibilities- Manage and oversee compliance with environmental regulations and Amazon policy.
- Drive an environmentally responsible culture within the organization.
- Ensure contractors, consultants, and employees comply with Amazon standards.
- Develop environmental metrics to measure, monitor, and forecast performance.
- Conduct thorough and accurate environmental audits for continuous improvement.
- Prioritize and manage multiple technically complex assignments concurrently.
- Represent Amazon with governmental agencies and internal stakeholders.
- Build collaborative relationships to identify and manage risks early.
- Assist in time‑critical report submissions to government agencies.
- Investigate environmental incidents, produce regulatory reports, and develop corrective action.
AWS Infrastructure Services (AIS) owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. They support all AWS data centers and ensure customers have continual access to the innovation they rely on.
Basic Qualifications- 5+ years of regulatory and risk management experience.
- Experience developing and implementing environmental compliance programs for regulated waste, water, and air.
- BA/BS in chemistry, chemical or environmental engineering, or related field.
- Broad knowledge of U.S. environmental regulations.
- Experience leading change in multiple site environments and influencing non‑direct reports.
- Experience in a fast‑paced, dynamic organization.
- Experience managing multiple projects, prioritizing, planning, and time management.
- Strong analytical and communication skills.
- Experience implementing environmental systems and compliance programs in operational settings.
- Excellent written and verbal communication.
- Demonstrated problem‑solving ability.

Base salary range: $109,700 - $183,300 annually (USA, MO, New Florence). Compensation includes sign‑on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs).
