Senior Project Engineer

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

• Develop, monitor, and maintain project budgets and schedules, coordinating staff assignments as authorized by the Engineering Group Manager
• Sign and stamp design drawings or reports for work supervised
• Mentor junior staff
• Develop Proposals
• Business development
• Responsible for successful completion of assigned projects
• Assign tasks to other engineers or technicians
• Meet/correspond with clients to obtain direction and provide feedback
• Communicate with Project Manager or Engineering Group Manager regarding job process, status, difficulties, and administrative issues
• Prepare design concepts and develop project plans and specifications
• Conduct design analysis for projects as required
• Conduct site visits/field investigations as required
• Oversee preparation of design documents
• Use computer programs and spreadsheets for engineering analysis and presentations
• Edit word‑processing documents and understand procedures for file saving, retrieving and transferring data, maintain project files according to company document retention guidelines
• May not change scope of work without approval of Project Manager
• Perform other duties as assigned

• Knowledge of engineering concepts, theories, and practices for the area of technical specialty

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field from an accredited university
• 10+ years of relevant engineering experience

• Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering or related field desired from an accredited university

• Registered PE (Professional Engineer) in that state of the home or branch office

• Must regularly lift/move up to 25 pounds and infrequently lift/move up to 50 pounds
• Must be able to walk several miles in extreme weather conditions
• Stand, walk, use of hand/fingers, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls
• Reach with hands and arms
• Talk and hear
• Sit, climb/balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl

• Regularly works in varying outside weather conditions where noise levels can be loud
• Occasionally works near moving mechanical parts and exposed to fumes and airborne particles
