ABOUT THE JOB
We are looking for a highly skilled Sr. Technical Lead Manager, Electrical Engineering, to join our rapidly growing team in Atlanta, GA. In this role, you will be responsible for end-to-end embedded control electronic systems and subsystems development for UAVs and related equipment. You will also be leading a team of engineers, and establishing robust design, integration, testing, and validation processes.
This will require expertise in PCB design, subsystem integration, process management, vendor coordination. If you are someone who has led teams supporting rapid embedded control electronics development, then this role is for you.
- Lead avionics system development from concept through production, ensuring seamless integration, reliability, and performance across Anduril's air systems.
- Provide technical guidance and manage a team of Electrical Engineers, driving technical execution and professional growth within the Tactical Recon & Strike Electrical Engineering team.
- Assign Electrical Engineers to projects and reconcile resource conflicts. Identify new resource requirements, recruit, interview & hire new employees.
- Evaluate staff performance, communicate areas for improvement for employees, and provide recommendations for compensation & promotions.
- Oversee full-cycle PCB and Line Replaceable Unit (LRU) development, guiding requirements derivation, schematic design, component selection, layout, board bring-up, and system integration, testing, and debugging.
- Architect and develop flight-critical embedded control electronic systems with an emphasis on high-reliability, resiliency, redundancy, and fault tolerance, collaborating cross-functionally to define product specifications and ensure mission success.
- Oversee sub-system and system-level testing and validation to ensure designs meet performance, safety, and reliability standards.
- Ensure engineering excellence by overseeing design reviews, analysis, and hardware testing to ensure product reliability in many of the harshest environments on earth.
- Develop and deploy engineering processes to assure design methods follow engineering best practices and support the overall system architecture to meet product technical requirements.
- Coordinate with fabrication and manufacturing partners, managing Bill of Materials (BOM), assembly processes, and supplier engagement to ensure high-quality production and delivery.
- Design embedded control electronics from concept to production, including hardware selection, schematic & PCB design, board bring-up, and system level integration.
- Troubleshoot issues that span the electrical and software boundaries, with solid skills using both lab equipment (Oscilloscopes, DMM, etc.) and software debugging tools.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams, including mechanical, software, firmware, and test engineers to deliver fully functional products.
- Work in a fast-paced environment supporting new developments, active deployments, and customer operated hardware.
- Concurrently manage involvement in multiple projects at various stages.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, or equivalent
- 7+ years of experience designing, testing, and troubleshooting complex embedded systems and products on UAV systems or similar industries.
- Proven leadership or management experience leading highly technical teams in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong hands-on knowledge of modern analog and digital electronics and electronic circuits.
- Familiarity with standard interfaces such as Ethernet, CAN, I2C, SPI, PCIe, USB, Analog circuits, etc.
- Familiarity with common MCU, CPU, FPGA devices and technologies.
- Competence with test equipment such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, debuggers, current-probes, and automation of tests
- Exceptional organization and communication skills (both written and oral)
- Proficient with Altium Designer or equivalent electronic design automation design tools
- Eligible to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance
- Proficiency with C
- Familiarity with software development processes and tools such as git, Git Hub, JIRA, etc.
- Experience with developing for a safety-critical environment
- Experience working on products used in tough environments (automotive, aerospace, defense, etc.)
- Knowledge of embedded software development, including use of timers, interrupts, hardware peripherals such as SPI controllers and ADCs
