Server Engineer

We are a Dell server hardware systems integrator, distributor and solutions provider for medium and large technology resellers. We help our customers make more informed technology decisions that enhance their offerings around Dell compute to their end users. We are seeking an enthusiastic Server Engineer to join our growing business. Our work is fast-paced, technical, challenging and rewarding. Our engineering team must be self-starting, eager to learn and problem solve. We are committed to providing the highest quality product and service and our technical capability is a critical part of that delivery.

• Assemble, configure and test server, storage and network product to custom specifications
• Load and image Operating Systems (OS) and Virtualization Software (VMs)
• Update hardware drivers and firmware via management console or command line
• Coordinate technical support to troubleshoot and repair damaged or non-functional hardware
• Perform diagnostics tests for hardware health with applicable reporting
• Troubleshoot hardware issues with customers via email, phone or onsite
• Assist with installation and de-installation hardware projects
• Assist with internal inventory management and cycle counts
• Assist with internal projects for Serviot IT systems, infrastructure and environment

• Advanced knowledge of x86 server hardware and components
• Intermediate knowledge of storage and networking hardware
• Ability to use a company provided computer
• Proficiency with e-mail and Microsoft Office Suite
• Demonstrated organization and project management
• This job requires lifting 40 pounds (LBs) or more on a regular basis
• This job requires work in our office and on our customer sites
• Must have reliable transportation, a valid driver's license and a clear driving record

• Technical certifications in x86 Server hardware
• Experience testing and configuring data center hardware
• Ability to self-start and self-manage multiple and ongoing projects
• Knowledge of circuitry and electrical components
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Experience using Command Line Interface to configure and troubleshoot components
