Responsibilities

As a Senior Civil Engineer, you’ll work alongside engineers and architects in our Federal & Environmental Solutions (F&ES) business unit and be responsible for leading the civil engineering component of facility planning and final design projects. Your responsibilities include ensuring overall project quality of civil engineering work performed, providing client service, utilizing assigned staff, managing project profitability, and leading civil design efforts for site development of U.S. military and other federal facilities.

You will review and approve contractor submittals and address RFIs, develop labor budgets for civil engineering design, and create cost‑effective phased plans for upgrades and replacement of site infrastructure. You will attend multi‑discipline design meetings, interact with clients, mentor less experienced employees, manage civil design project teams, collaborate with senior engineers of other disciplines and architects, and report design progress to Project Managers and clients.

Travel to project sites is expected, including international locations. Additional duties may include collaborating with coastal engineers on flood walls and stormwater pump stations and onsite supervising of topographic and utility survey teams.

Qualifications
  • Licensed Professional Engineer
  • At least 15 years of progressive responsibility and experience in site development projects, including sealing design documents as the Engineer of Record
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited program
  • Strong background in plan production and project execution while leading design teams
  • AutoCAD Civil3D design experience
  • United States Citizen
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with Federal clients and projects
  • Experience with Bluebeam software
