Traveling Electrical Superintendent – Evergreen Innovation Group
Evergreen Innovation Group, part of the DPR Family of Companies, is seeking a Traveling Electrical Superintendent with a minimum of five years of electrical commercial construction experience. This role involves day‑to‑day scheduling, field coordination, and oversight of electrical and low‑voltage system scopes across projects.
Responsibilities- Foster the development of foremen to grow into future superintendents.
- Support pre‑construction and project teams in reviewing trade partner proposals, schedules, and logistics.
- Manage the installation of electrical, HVAC, automation, plumbing, process piping, low‑voltage, fire/life safety, and fire protection systems.
- Participate in the review of electrical shop drawings and submittals.
- Assist in developing full commissioning plans for all electrical systems, including test requirements, inspections, factory start‑up, and integrated test plans.
- Provide onsite construction support for electrical systems, overseeing start‑up, balancing, commissioning, validation certification, owner training, and project closeout.
- Develop and oversee project‑specific electrical quality and safety programs, and participate in safety cause mapping for post‑electrical safety events.
- Create construction schedules, perform regular updates, monitor logic relationships, and insert new activities and impacts.
- Coordinate jobsite logistics and maintain relationships with neighboring occupants.
- Negotiate with authorities having jurisdiction to achieve project occupancy milestones.
- Lead EIG/DPR’s injury‑free environment safety program.
- Coordinate subcontractor work scopes, scheduling, and resource loading in conjunction with DPR’s self‑perform work crews.
- Represent EIG field operations as the primary interface with owners and design teams.
Skills and Abilities
- Strong grasp of electrical construction concepts and applicable codes.
- Ability to work with multiple stakeholders to identify and resolve complex issues related to electrical design and construction.
- Ability to run complex meetings, issue minutes, and follow up with participants for deliverables.
- Good understanding of fire/life safety and fire sprinkler systems and their integration with mechanical, electrical, building systems.
- Good understanding of the test and balance process and requirements.
- Good understanding of building automation systems and sequences as they relate to MEP.
- Good understanding of electrical safety regulations.
- Ability to contribute to a culture of safety in a construction environment.
- Proficiency in virtual design and construction software (preferred).
- Experience with CPM scheduling and lean pull planning; knowledge of Primavera P6 is preferred.
- Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Office and Bluebeam.
- Comfortable in an open and collaborative working environment.
- Excellent listening, communication, and conflict resolution skills.
- Ability to create and support a positive team environment.
- A strong work ethic and a can‑do attitude.
- Five or more years of experience as an electrical superintendent, preferably within DPR’s core markets.
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field is preferred but not required.
- Travel to and from the office as well as assigned job sites.
- Continual walking, standing, climbing, stooping, bending, kneeling, reaching, and heavy lifting.
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
