What You Will Do

The Raytheon Effector Guidance Electronics Department seeks an Electrical Engineer to develop compact, high‑performance RF front‑end hardware for advanced airborne radar and communication systems. You will collaborate with cross‑functional teams to create architecture solutions for radar antenna arrays, high‑density microelectronic packaging, electronic packaging, thermal control, power systems, and RF networks. Your work will include design and development of software‑defined radios, amplifiers, receivers, exciters, and data links used in ground, airborne, and space applications, all while meeting strict size, weight, power, cost, and environmental constraints.

Responsibilities
  • Develop leading‑edge compact systems and sensors for next‑generation technologies.
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional hardware engineering teams to design architecture solutions for airborne radar antenna arrays.
  • Design RF hardware for high‑performance communication products including software‑defined radios, amplifiers, receivers, exciters, and data links.
  • Apply established procedures for technical data package creation and work closely with program management to meet design objectives.
  • Design and develop electronic packaging structures, interconnects, thermal control systems, and electronic enclosures for high‑density RF systems.
  • Implement systems that meet size, weight, power, and cost constraints.
  • Participate in product development from documentation and fabrication to assembly, test, and delivery of military products.
  • Travel up to 25% to other Raytheon facilities and customer sites as needed.
Qualifications You Must Have
  • Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM).
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant RF circuit design experience using Ansys HFSS or Cadence Clarity EM.
  • RF system simulation and design experience with ADS, Genesys, or System Vue.
  • Design and testing of analog CCAs (frequency conversion, AGC, amplifiers, MMICs, analog filters).
  • Microwave testing experience (spectrum analyzers, RF generators, oscilloscopes, VNAs, PNAs).
  • Schematic and circuit layout experience using Allegro/APD+, KiCAD, Altium, or equivalent CAD tools.
We Prefer
  • Master of Science or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering.
  • Strong background in PCB/PWB development, documentation, fabrication, assembly, and testing of military electronic products.
  • Experience with electromagnetic simulation of passive RF components.
  • Experience with FPGA and microcontroller module testing and programming.
  • Programming skills in C, C++, Python and platforms such as MATLAB.
  • Performance, power and signal integrity analysis of circuit layouts.
  • Knowledge of airborne environmental requirements and design constraints.
