Job Description
DPR Construction is seeking an MEP Superintendent with 5+ years of commercial mechanical, electrical, and plumbing construction experience. The role is responsible for day‑to‑day scheduling and field coordination of all MEP scopes, including mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire/life safety, low voltage systems, and fire sprinkler systems.
The Superintendent will work as part of the field leadership team to plan and execute system start‑up, test and balance, and commissioning. They will also collaborate with project executives, regional leadership, and trade partners to review proposals, schedules, and logistics.
Responsibilities- Manage installation of electrical, HVAC, automation, plumbing, process piping, low voltage, fire/life safety, and fire protection systems.
- Participate in review of trade shop drawings, submittals, and MEP‑related documentation.
- Develop full commissioning plans for all MEP systems, identifying test requirements, inspections, factory start‑up, acceptance testing, vendor documentation, and integrated test plans.
- Provide onsite construction support for MEP systems, overseeing start‑up, balancing, commissioning, and validation certification, including owner training and project closeout.
- Develop and oversee project‑specific MEP quality and safety programs and contribute to post‑incident safety mapping.
- Create and update construction schedules, monitor logic relationships, and integrate new activities.
- Coordinate jobsite logistics and maintain relationships with neighboring occupants.
- Negotiate with authorities having jurisdiction to achieve occupancy milestones.
- Lead the injury‑free safety program and coordinate subcontractor scopes, scheduling, and resource loading with self‑perform crews.
- Foster the development of foremen toward future superintendents.
- Represent DPR field operations as primary interface with owners and design teams.
- Strong grasp of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing construction concepts and applicable codes.
- Experience resolving complex MEP design and construction issues with multiple stakeholders.
- Ability to run and document complex meetings and manage deliverables.
- Good understanding of fire/life safety, fire sprinkler integration, test & balance, building automation sequences, and MEP safety regulations.
- Proficient in virtual design and construction software; experience with CPM scheduling and lean pull planning.
- Preferred experience with Primavera P6.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and Bluebeam.
- Excellent communication, listening, and conflict resolution skills.
- Team‑building mindset and a "can‑do" attitude.
- 5+ years as an MEP Superintendent, preferably in DPR core markets.
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferable but not required.
